...and gave it a 10.0!!!

A story about an assassin that has to use his multiple personalities to stop a terrorist organization that's threatening world peace...who would've ever conceived an idea like that?

Games like this don't come around often, but when they do, everyone (that is, all those old enough to grasp the violence and humor presented here) needs to take it in. Killer7's ability to go from gory and violent, to obscenely silly and nonsensical, is pure genius. The characters all portray their won unique style, from Dan's straight-lacedness to Kevin's silent but deadly attitude (stop laughing), from Mask's bigger than life persona to Kaede's sadness, they all play and act their own way, but all towards the same goal. If they were all individual people, it'd be hard to see them all working together...and yet, they exist in beautiful harmony, all their abilities coming together exactly as they should. Again, the violence of blasting demonic laughing beings, malformed from a terrible disease, is balanced quite perfectly with an overarching sense of humor that is rarely seen matched in games in history. It's amazing to see a game as genuinely funny as this one, yet still be serious enough to capture the weight of your mission. The addition of using blood shed from enemies to increase the effectiveness of your characters' guns is also a great feature, as it usually is with most games to reward players for putting a bit of extra work into their experience.

Some may be put off by the graphic style, and the fact that the game plays a bit like a point-and-click adventure, in that the characters run along a "rail" through environments and interact with objects and points of interest along their way, and the fact that the shooting element is done from a first person perspective without any sort of strafing or movement involved. When you go into first person, you're stationary. It can make for better accuracy and more tense battles, however if you haven't gotten very used to the gameplay mechanic, which takes a while, backpedaling to give yourself some more time to eliminate enemies can prove to be quite difficult. Practice definitely makes perfect. Some also might be put off by how well this game is written. True, good writing helps in many aspects, but this game has so many nods and winks towards politics, philosophy, religion, morality, and ethics that it's hard to grasp what's being implied.

Good news is...you don't need to grasp everything. If a player wants to dig for hidden meanings, that's fine, but if they just want to enjoy an interestingly made shooting/survival horror/role-playing adventure, they're in the right place!
